Huntington Beach, California is HOME!
As of July 1, 2008 the school established its
Huntington Beach location as its long term home. The school signed a
guaranteed lease for 15 years with 20 years of school options for renewal
after that.
Established in 1947
Brethren Christian was originally established in 1947
by the First Brethren Church of Long Beach. It is now an independent,
non-profit Christian School grades 6-12. It is governed by a
self-perpetuating Board of Directors. The school is accredited by both
the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Association
of Christian Schools International (ACSI). All college preparatory
classes have been certified by the University of California and California
State University.
Brethren Christian High School Academics
Brethren Christian High School is a comprehensive,
college preparatory High School. It is the only independent,
evangelical Christian Junior and Senior High School in Orange County.
The school’s graduates routinely score 80 points higher than the national,
state and county averages for both public and private high schools.
The school offers honors courses and seven different AP courses. More
than 90% of its graduates attend the college of their choice upon graduation
with most matriculating at four-year universities and colleges. The
Brethren Christian Junior High School
Located on the same campus with Brethren Christian High
School, Brethren Christian Junior High School students, grades
6-12, enjoy full semester electives in our award winning art, band, drama,
choir, computer and woodshop programs. They will choose team sports
such as volleyball, football, basketball and softball. They will be
challenged with optional, advanced courses in algebra, geometry and foreign
languages (if qualified). They will participate in student government,
community service and weekly chapel.
Brethren Christian High School Athletics
The school offers 17 different CIF sports for boys and
girls. Teams often compete deep into CIF playoffs and have captured
several CIF championships.
Brethren Christian High School Fine Arts and other programs
Our Drama, Art, Choir, Wind Symphony and Jazz programs
are recognized as leaders among schools of all sizes in Southern California.
Students also participate in a variety of worship, service and extra
curricular activities.

All applicants regardless of race, color, national
origin, ancestry or sex who have a personal commitment to faith in Christ
and desire a high quality Christian education. Applicants must be
prepared spiritually, academically, socially, physically and linguistically
to meet the requirements of Brethren Christian’s well-defined, college
preparatory, English medium, mainstream, Christian, educational program.
To be admitted students and at least one parent must
be born-again Christians who regularly attend church. The student must
have scored in the 60th percentile or above in total reading and
total mathematics on the most recent achievement testing. Scores below
the 60th percentile may require further testing. Admission
to advanced courses requires placement testing.
